London Paddington is one of London’s Victorian train stations dealing with 35 million commuters yearly. It was built in 1854 for the then Great Western Railway, to a design by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Matthew Digby Wyatt.

An extensive renovation began in 2009 that will restore the glass roof from 1961. This will provide the station with natural lighting and additional shelter to the platforms. The project also includes refurbishing the platforms, repairing existing structures, building a network of bridges and walkways and installing new mechanical and electrical systems. The restoration costs are estimated at £40 million.
